Minister: Ross, repeat after me. "I Ross take thee Rebecca, to be my lawfully wedded wife til death parts us."

Ross (in dreamland): I Ross, take thee Rachel… (Ross wakes up with a look of horror on his face)

Ross (awake): What the heck was that?

JOEY'S APARTMENT: (Joey, Chandler and Ross are present)

Ross: I don't know guys, what do you think?

Chandler: Let me get this straight. You're already thinking about marrying Rebecca?

Joey: Well he is the marrying man.

Ross: No, no, it's just a dream. Come on guys, you've got to help me. I have had the same dream two nights in a row.

Chandler: And you don't love Rachel.

Ross: No. I'm with Rachel now, (slight pause) Rebecca. I mean Rebecca.

Joey: Sounds to me like you're still in love with Rachel.

Ross: I'm not in love with Rachel.

Joey: Then why do you always say her name at weddings?

Ross: I only did it at Emily and I's wedding, and it was because I was happy she came.

Chandler: Then maybe you were just happy she came to your and Rebecca's dream wedding.

Ross: You think?

Chandler: No. I think you still have feelings for Rachel.

Ross (frustrated): Alright, I'm leaving. You guys aren't helping. Bye. (Ross leaves)

Joey: He still loves Rachel.

Chandler: Oh yeah.

MONICA AND CHANDLER'S (Phoebe and Monica are talking at the table)

Monica: Did Rachel come home last night?

Phoebe: No, I thought she stayed here. (pause) Now I'm worried about her.

Monica: Maybe she went to her Mom's.

Phoebe: How would she get there, she didn't borrow my cab.

Monica: Then where did she go?

(Rachel enters)

Rachel: Hey.

Monica: Where the hell have you been?

Phoebe: We have been worried sick about you.

Rachel: I was at Mark's.

Monica: Mark, as in Bloomingdale's Mark.

Rachel: Yes. I went to his apartment after Ross humiliated me.

Monica: So what happened?

Rachel: Nothing happened. We just talked, it got really late and I slept on his couch.

Phoebe: Are you sure nothing happened? Your aura is all shiny.

Rachel: Let's just say that I'm moving on.

Monica: Are you going to start dating him?

Rachel: After last night…Yes.

CENTRAL PERK: (Everyone is present except Rachel. Rebecca is there as well)

Monica: So Rebecca, when do you and Ross leave?

Rebecca: In two days.

Ross: Yup, I already got my plane ticket. (Ross kisses Rebecca).

Chandler (to Ross): So you're really going to go and camp out with bugs.

Ross: Of course. I'd do anything for Rachel. (Rebecca shoots him a look) I mean Rebecca.

Rebecca (a little mad): Why did you call me Rachel?

Phoebe: He just does that. He calls all women Rachel at some point. Heck, even at he and Emily's wedding he did that. He said I take thee Rachel, instead of Emily.

Ross (glaring at Phoebe, then turning to Rebecca): I'm sorry honey. I just had a bad fight with Rachel and I hate it when people are mad at me.

Rebecca: It's ok I guess. Just don't do it again.

(Rachel enters with Mark, holding hands)

Rachel: Hey everybody. You remember Mark.

(Cut to Ross who is now very uncomfortable)

Rachel: Mark, you remember my ex-roommate Monica.

Mark: Hi Monica, nice to see you again.

Monica: Hi.

Rachel: This is Monica's fiancee, Chandler.

Chandler: Hey Mark.

Rachel: This is Phoebe.

Phoebe: Hi.

Rachel: This is Joey.

Joey: How's it going.

Rachel: And you remember Ross.

Mark: Hey there Ross.

Ross (quietly): Hey.

Rachel: And this is Ross' girlfriend, Rebecca.

Mark: Actually, I already know Rebecca.

Rebecca: Yeah, we used to date.

Ross (more interested in the conversation): What?

Rebecca: Oh, we dated for about seven months about a year and half ago.

Ross: And you're just telling me now?

Rebecca: Can I speak to you outside for a minute?

Ross: Sure. (Ross and Rebecca leave)

Mark (to Rachel): What's up with them?

Rachel (with a big smile on her face): Beats me.

Monica: So Mark, what are you guys up to?

Mark: Oh, we're just going to the movies and then maybe a late lunch.

Rachel: Yeah, we're going to see Me, Myself and Irene.

Joey: Oh, I auditioned for a part in that movie.

Phoebe: Really, which part?

Joey: Rhode Island trooper number 12.

Chandler: And you didn't get the part?

Joey: No. You had to know how to ride a motorcyle.

Chandler: And you couldn't learn?

Joey: I can't even ride a bike.

Monica: Anyway Rach, did you know that Mark dated Rebecca?

Rachel: Yeah, Mark and I talked about it last night.

Phoebe: Is this another one of your plans to break Ross and his girlfriend up?

Rachel: Would I do that?

Chandler: Yes comes to mind.

Mark: You might as well tell them the truth.

Rachel: Alright. Yes it is.

Joey: Way to go Rach!

Monica: Rachel, you said you were moving on.

Rachel: I am moving things along, Mark is just helping me.

Phoebe: You two should be ashamed of yourselves. So what's next?

(Ross re-enters from outside)

Monica: Where's Rebecca?

Ross: She had to go.

Monica: Is everything alright?

Ross: Everything's fine. Couldn't be happier. (Ross sits down on the couch).

Phoebe: Are you still going to Ecuador?

Ross: Yes. Actually, I am going to go and start packing. Bye (Ross leaves).

Joey: Hey Chandler, I bet you ten bucks that Ross doesn't go to Ecuador.

Chandler: You're on.

PHOEBE & RACHEL'S (It's around 9 pm. Rachel is sitting on the couch reading a magazine, there's a knock at the door and Rachel gets up and answers it. It's Ross.)

Rachel: Oh, it's you. What do you want?

Ross: Can I come in?

Rachel: No. I am still mad at you. You had no right to humiliate me like that.

Ross: I'm sorry.

Rachel: It's too late for that. What do you want?

Ross: Why are you going out with Mark?

Rachel: I don’t think that's any of your business.

Ross: It doesn't bother you that he also dated Rebecca?

Rachel: Actually it doesn't. Is that all? I'm really tired and I want to go to bed.

Ross: It's only nine o'clock.

Rachel: Well I didn't get a lot sleep last night. Mark and I were up really late.

Ross: Doing what?

Rachel: Again that's none of your business.

Ross: Fine. I'll see you later.

ROSS' APARTMENT (Ross and Rebecca are asleep. Ross is dreaming).

Ross (in dreamland): Rebecca, there's something I have to ask you.

Rebecca (in dreamland): Alright. What is it?

Ross (gets down on one knee, and grabs Rebecca's hand): Rachel, will you marry me? (Ross wakes up)

Ross: Oh my god.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

MONICA & CHANDLER'S (The next morning. Chandler and Monica are eating breakfast at the table. Ross enters)

Monica: Good morning Ross.

Ross: Maybe in China.

Chandler: What's wrong, have another one of those Rachel dreams?

Monica: What Rachel dreams?

Chandler: He's been having these dreams where he keeps saying Rachel's name instead of Rebecca's.

Ross: Chandler, I told you not to tell anyone.

Chandler: Monica's my fiancee. I tell Monica everything.

Ross: Even about your subscription to Playboy?

(Monica glares at Chandler)

Chandler: I don't have a subscription to Playboy. (Monica continues to glare at Chandler). Ok, I do. But Ross got it for me for my birthday.

(Monica now glares at Ross)

Ross: Anyway, I had this dream last night that I was asking Rebecca to marry me but I said Rachel's name instead of hers.

Monica: Well it sounds like you have to talk to Rachel instead of us.

Ross: I tried to talk to Rachel, but she's mad at me.

Chandler: Then go to Ecuador and let it all blow over.

Ross: Yeah, I'll just go to Ecuador. She won't stay mad at me forever. Thanks Chandler. (Ross leaves),

Chandler: Joey, your money is mine.

Monica: I can't believe you just did that. You know he still loves Rachel yet you tell him to go to Ecuador.

Chandler: But there was money at stake.

Monica (looking disapprovingly and pointing to their bedroom): Well that's not all that's at stake.

Chandler: Alright, I'll talk to him.

CENTRAL PERK (Chandler, Joey and Ross are present)

Chandler (to Ross): I don't think you should go to Ecuador.

Ross: What? This morning you said that I should go.

Chandler: What do I know? If I told you to jump off the Brooklyn Bridge, would you do that?

Ross: No.

Joey: Why would you want to jump off the Brooklyn Bridge?

Ross: It's a rhetorical question Joey.

Joey: A what?

Ross: Never mind. (to Chandler) You really think I shouldn't go.

Chandler: Not as long as you're having dreams about Rachel.

Joey: Cool. You have dreams about Rachel too? Is she naked and stuff?

Ross: No Joey, she's not naked.

Joey: Dude, even your dreams are boring.

Chandler (ignoring Joey): Ross, do you know why you keep having these dreams?

Ross: No.

Chandler: Maybe it's because you still have unresolved feelings for Rachel.

Ross (a bit mad): I don't have feelings for Rachel. She's the one with feelings, not me.

Joey: Maybe dreamland Ross has feelings for Rachel.

Ross (shoots Joey a look): That's ridiculous.

Joey: Is it? You've had the same dream over and over again. It's got to mean something. Maybe you should talk to Phoebe. She's good at all this dream stuff.

Chandler: Ross, when did the dreams start?

Ross: After Rachel told me she was still in love me and wanted to get back together.

Chandler: And that's just a coincidence to you?

Ross: I'm not in love with Rebecca, (pause) I mean Rachel. Why does that keep happening to me?

Joey: Because you're still in love with Rachel.

(Rachel and Mark enter)

Rachel: Hey guys.

Chandler/Joey: Hi.

Ross (looks at Rachel and Mark): I was just leaving. (Ross leaves)

Rachel: What's the matter with him?

Chandler: He hasn't been sleeping. He's been having nightmares. (Joey and Chandler laugh).

Rachel: Why is that funny?

Joey: Sorry, can't tell you.

Chandler: Ross would kill us.

Rachel: Fine, don't tell me.

Mark: Rach, do you want some coffee?

Rachel: Sure. Make it a decaf. (to Chandler) Come on, tell me.

Chandler: Alright.

Joey: Chandler, we promised Ross we wouldn't say anything!

Chandler: Rachel won't say anything. (to Rachel) Ross has been having dreams about you.

Rachel: What kind of dreams?

Joey: Dreams where he says your name instead of Rebecca's.

Rachel: Really?

Joey: Yeah, except you're not naked.

Rachel: What does that have to do with anything?

Joey: Well, you're always naked in my dreams.

Rachel: Joey, that's gross. And stop dreaming about me like that. (to Chandler) Is Ross still going to Ecuador?

Chandler: I don't know. He's pretty confused. They're supposed to leave tomorrow.

Rachel: I think you're gonna lose your bet with Joey.

ROSS' APARTMENT (It's late. He and Rebecca are sleeping. Ross is dreaming)

Rachel: I can't believe you'd rather go out with her than me.

Ross: Would you excuse me, please? I'm trying to have a relationship here.

Rachel: Fine, just stop thinking about me.

(He tries, and Rachel disappears momentarily. She reappears, standing closer to him.)

Rachel: Can't do it, can you?

Ross: So I'm thinking about you. So what?

Rachel: I don't get it. What do you see in this girl, anyway?

Ross: Well... she happens to be a very nice... girl....

Rachel: Ross, come on. Give us another chance.

Ross: Rachel, it's too hard.

Rachel: Look, you and I both know we are perfect for each other, right?

Rachel: I don't know... I mean, what if we break up again. I can't go through the pain.

Rachel: Who said we'd break up again. The only thing that matters is how we feel. I love you Ross.

(They kiss. Rachel walks away, and then fades out.)

Ross (now awake): I love you too Rachel.

MONICA & CHANDLER'S (Next Morning. Everyone is present except for Ross.)

Chandler: Any word from Ross? Isn't his flight in a couple of hours?

Monica (walks over to the bay window and peers out): It doesn't look like he's home.

Phoebe: Maybe they left in secrecy last night.

Monica: Why would they do that?

Phoebe: Well, then Ross wouldn't have to face Rachel.

(Ross & Rebecca enter)

Ross: Hey everyone. We just stopped by to say goodbye.

Rachel: Goodbye. (Rachel leaves and goes onto the balcony)

Rebecca (sarcastically): She's in a good mood this morning.

Joey: So Ross, did you have another one of your dreams last night?

(Ross, Chandler and Monica shoot Joey a "what did you say that for" look)

Rebecca: What type of dreams Ross?

Ross (trying desperately to cover his tracks): Oh, it's nothing. It's silly actually. I've just been dreaming about my old monkey, Marcel.

Phoebe (under her breath): Yeah right, you lobster loving freak.

(Ross shoots a look at Phoebe)

Ross: Anyway, we'd better get going Beck. We don't want to miss our flight. Goodbye guys.

(Ross hugs Monica, Phoebe, and hi fives Joey and Chandler. Ross then looks out to the balcony where Rachel is staring at the ground).

Ross: Beck, could you go get us a cab? I need to talk to Rachel real quick.

Rebecca: Ok. Don't be long sweetie. Bye everyone, see you in three months.

All: Bye.

THE BALCONY (Rachel is staring at down towards the street)

Ross: Hey, can I talk to you for a minute?

Rachel (coldly): Don't you have a plane to catch?

Ross (mad): What do you want from me? I said I was sorry.

Rachel (angry): I don't need anything from you anymore. I have Mark now.

Ross (calmer): Why are we fighting? I have a girlfriend, you have a boyfriend, yet we're fighting like we're still together.

Rachel: I don't know. Maybe you fight with someone when you care about them so much.

Ross: Rachel don't. I'm with Rachel now. I mean Rebecca.

Rachel: That was convincing. Still having dreams about me?

Ross (stunned): No. (pause) How did you find out about that?

Rachel: I have my sources.

Ross: Why do we keep doing this?

Rachel: Doing what?

Ross: This. Never being able to move on. We stopped dating over three years ago yet we still act like we're dating.

Rachel: What do you want me to say? You know how I feel. Why did you come out here? Isn't Rebecca waiting for you?

Ross: Right Rebecca. I just came out here to say I'm sorry and goodbye. I'll see you in a month. (Ross turns to leave).

Rachel: Ross.. (pause) Have a good trip.

JFK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (Ross and Rebecca are waiting to board the plane)

Rebecca: I'm so glad you decided to come with me. We're gonna have so much fun.

Ross (who was daydreaming): Huh?

Rebecca: Ross, have you been listening to a word I have said?

Ross: Sure honey. That sounds like fun.

Rebecca: Ross what's wrong?

Ross: Nothing. Everything's fine.

Rebecca: What did you and Rachel talk about?

Ross: Nothing much, I just wanted to say goodbye and tell her that I was sorry.

Rebecca: What were you sorry for?

Ross: Just for being a stubborn idiot when we had our fight a couple of days ago.

Rebecca: Ross, do you still have feelings for Rachel?

Ross: What?!

Rebecca: It's ok if you do. I still have feelings for Mark.

Ross: You still have feelings for Mark?

Rebecca: Sure I do, it's normal.

Ross: Then yes, I still have feelings for Rachel.

Rebecca: Do you still love Rachel?

Ross: Do you still love Mark?

Rebecca: No. I don't.

Ross: I wish I could say that I don't love Rachel, but truthfully I still do.

Rebecca: You know what Ross? I think you should stay here. I think you need time to figure out your feelings for me and deal with your feelings for Rachel. If we're meant to be, you'll be waiting for me when I get back.

Ross: No, I want to go with you.

Rebecca: Ross, trust me. This is the best way. I know you care for me, but it's obvious that you care for Rachel deeply. I think you should try and work things out with her.

Ross: Rebecca, I never meant to hurt you.

Rebecca: Funny thing is, I'm not hurt. I just want to be with someone who isn't still in love with an old flame. I'll be fine go. (Rebecca kisses Ross)

Ross: Have a safe trip. I'll see you when you get back.

PHOEBE & RACHEL'S (it's 11 pm and Rachel and Phoebe are in their rooms. There is a knock on the door and Rachel emerges to answer the door).

Rachel (speaking to the door): Who is it?

Ross: It's Ross.

(Rachel opens the door)

Rachel: What are you doing here, aren't you suppose to be on a plane to Ecuador?

Ross: Something came up.

Rachel: What?

Ross: You. (Ross takes Rachel in his arms and kisses her)

Rachel (mad): What do you think you're doing? You just don't waltz in here and kiss me like that.

Ross: I love you.

Rachel: And that's suppose to change everything? (pause) What did you say?

Ross: I love you.

Rachel (near tears): Don't play with my heart Ross. One minute you're flying off to Ecuador with some woman and the next you're standing before me telling me that you love me.

Ross: Rachel, I love you. That's why I didn't go to Ecuador. That's why I have been having all of those dreams about you. That's why I can't stand it when I see you with another guy. That's why you're the reason I live. I'm sorry that I denied my feelings for you when you told me that you were still in love with me and wanted to get back together. I was afraid. I couldn't stand losing you if we were to fail again.

Rachel (quietly): Ross, come here. (Rachel takes Ross by his arms and embraces him). Shut up while you're ahead. I love you too.

Ross: Will you be my girlfriend again?

Rachel: No. (Ross looks shocked) Just kidding, (Rachel kisses Ross).

Phoebe (from her bedroom): I told you lobsters always find their way back to each other!

(Rachel and Ross go into Rachel's bedroom)

MONICA & CHANDLER'S (The next morning. Joey, Monica and Chandler are eating breakfast at the table. The door opens and Phoebe enters)

Phoebe: Big news!

Joey: I got the part in Hannibal?!

Phoebe: No. You auditioned for a part in that movie?

Joey: Yeah, victim number 3.

Chandler: What, was victim number 1 and 2 too much of a stretch?

Monica: Phoebe, what's the big news?

Phoebe: Oh, I can't tell you. You'll find out in about a minute.

(the door opens and Rachel & Ross enter)

Monica: Ross, what are you doing here, aren’t you suppose to be in Ecuador?

Ross: No. Something came up.

Chandler: What?

Rachel (very excited): Us!!!

Monica: Oh my God! You guys are back together. That's great.

Chandler: Damn it, here's your ten bucks back Joey.

Phoebe: Never bet against lobsters.

ROSS' APARTMENT (Ross and Rachel are lying on top of his bed- fully clothed)

Rachel: Isn't this great?

Ross: I can't believe we're back together, I love you.

Rachel: I love you. Why don't celebrate? (Rachel sits up)

Ross: What do have in mind?

(Rachel leans in and whispers in Ross' ear)

Ross: Oh definitely. (Ross pulls Rachel down and kisses her passionately)
